Johanna Shannon as Elisabeth Rohm. Darcie Chapman. Tyler Manguso. Her mother Rohm committed suicide too, when Clare was young, and Clare is still traumatized by it.

Then one day her dad brings her home a mysterious music box, that he found in a dumpster, which says it will grant her seven wishes.

Clare decides to entertain the fantastical idea, and then she's amazed when her wishes start coming true. Then Clare becomes haunted by the box though, when people start dying seemingly as a result of her making wishes.

I enjoy horror movies, especially really good quality thrillers, but even B-horror flicks too. This is definitely a B-horror movie, but for me it was a lot of fun.

I could really relate to Clare, and the concept of the movie is really interesting to me as well. I'd even go see a sequel which the film is definitely set up for.

I think this is a horror movie that most B-horror fans can enjoy like I definitely did. Pansarfluff 7 October This movie actually started off as quite entertaining and I was happily surprised as I had been really skeptical about this title.

However, it seems like the major problem with this movie is its length. After about 30 minutes it stops being entertaining and just becomes uneventful and boring, like the creators had a great idea but not enough material to make a feature film.

To make things even worse, most of the entertainment of the first 30 minutes was not the horror. The movie lacks horror, a lot of it.

The perhaps most obvious example of this is Darcie and her rotting skin. She takes her sock of, revealing a black foot and that's it.

This made me really disappointed. Some scenes in this movie could have been absolutely terrifying, but they always end before the horror gets a chance to grab the audience.

I like the basic concept of this movie but I hate its execution. The plot sounded really good, there were some good ideas here and there.

I enjoy some of the death Scene, ,as they were bit like Final Destination but not on the same level as those deaths. The acting was a mixed bag , some scenes felt good and others felt forced.

Also some of the script was very bad in places, didn't help either. Felt like half stuff was missing, seem a lot must of been cut. The ending was very predicable, I knew from the start, that was going to happen.

The last scenes was hilarious bad! CharlieK96 10 August I'm sorry but what assembly of badly-cut nonsense scenes is this shitpile of a movie?

Mostly I'm sorry that they put that much money into making this stupid movie. From the very beginning, you know how it will end. You know more or less what the engravings on the box will translate to, and that the main character will die because of it.

Every single thing that happens is annoyingly foreseeable. Spoiler Alert! So, the movie starts off with Clare being haunted by her mother's suicide when she was little.

Her father, Jonathan, who dumpster dives like an addict, one day finds a music box with Chinese engravings and gives it to his daughter as an early birthday present.

Clare manages to decipher ''Seven Wishes'' on the box. Of course, she ignores the rest of whats written on the box, the small print, saying, — as we find out afterwards — that every wish has a blood price and that she'll die afterwards.

It will claim her soul. After her first wish, to rot the school bully Darcie, comes true, Clare's beloved dog dies. Though, that does not seem to frighten Clare enough to stop.

She goes on wishing for dumb teenager stuff, and is surprised every time someone dies. Only after her fourth wish, she realizes that it was maybe not the best idea to go on like this.

She now still makes wishes, only that she starts feeling a little guilty. Instead of keeping everyone away from it, she takes she music box and gives it to a friend in order for him to bury it.

Of course, out of curiosity he does not simply bury it without checking it out. So, Clare gets run over and the music box, with Clare's help, finds its next owner and target.

Thank you Clare. A mid-credit-scene of her friend with the music box indicates a sequel. Besides the flawed and stupid plot, the jump-scares the movie tries to make are really bad.

The music builds up, and you already know what's going to happen. This gets to the point that you are annoyed more and more by every alleged jump-scare they try to make.

Oh wait, I forgot - what music? The only tension the movie manages to build up is the tension to decide whether to leave the movie theater or hope for a good end, that is not there.

Also, the camera movements are really weird. The producers maybe tried to be fancy and creative, but all they did was confuse the viewers with weird angles and shots that do not fit.

So, all in all, cinematography, music and the plot were disappointing. Theatrical release poster. Joey King Ki Hong Lee Sydney Park Elisabeth Rohm Ryan Phillippe.

She goes outside, since the power went out in her loft, to call Ryan her cousin to tell him what the text meant. She drops her phone and is unable to finish the voicemail she was leaving.

She goes back in her loft and she trips on this furry carpet, which then impales her on a sculpture of an animal with tusks or something.

Like, think about it for a fucking second. Why in the FUCK would you put a carpet in the same room that contains a sculpture with tusks??? Your interior decorating skills are absolutely horrendous and, honestly, makes me think that Gina deserved to die.

Seriously, no one in their right might would ever make the decision to put a carpet in the same room that something sharp and dangerous is in for that very fucking reason.

You could trip, fall and and, as was the case here, impale yourself or, in the case of a knife, bring the knife down with you. People trip on carpets all the fucking time.

Might be one of the stupidest deaths I've seen in a while when you really think about it. Because you can just move on and not even think about it and think 'oh, that was a cool death'.

But when you look deeper into it and scrutinize it, you realize that it's incredibly stupid and idiotic. There's more idiocy here.

Clare's father, whose name I do not know, pops a tire on his way to a gig. He's changing this tire when a bolt rolls underneath the car. The bolt ends up on the passenger side of the car, Jon Clare's father is changing the tire on the driver's side.

So instead of Jon going over to the passenger side and getting the bolt. He gets underneath the car on HIS side and attempt to reach the bolt that way.

Holy fucking motherfucking shit, could the people in this movie be any stupider? Like why would he even bother struggle to reach the bolt that, quite easily, he could get out from under the car and just walk to the passenger side and easily pick up without having to get under his car.

They're using this for tension, since several events happen at the same time as a result of the box being opened. So they're teasing Clare's father's death, essentially.

But to suspend our disbelief and buy into this, we have to pretend that everyone in this world is an absolute idiot. You know, this only works in a comedic setting.

I don't think this is meant to be a comedy. Though, to be fair, I can't take any movie that has a character say 'haters gonna hate' un-ironically seriously.

There's also a funny moment near the end, when Clare and June are having a tug of war for the box that June took away from Clare after Clare fails to get rid of it, even after one of her friends dies.

They're doing this next to some steps. June ends up tumbling down the steps. What's comical is that, the last four or five steps, she took sliding down on her belly and it was just funny.

Man, this movie is bad. The thing is that there's potential here to use the box itself as a metaphor for addiction and how some people claim that they can just leave it any time they want and whatnot.

But the movie is so poorly-written that it just doesn't work. And, honestly, Joey King doesn't do a good enough job in this role. And, honestly, I don't think I can blame her for this.

The script is just terrible and I don't think anybody, as talented as they may have been, could have been able to pull this off convincingly. Man, this movie sucked.

I've certainly seen worse, but this wastes pretty much every opportunity it has to be, at the very least, a decent horror movie on stupid characters, unintentionally hilarious scenes and poor storytelling.

This is just a failure all accounts and, sadly, it didn't have to be that way. Obviously, I wouldn't exactly give this a recommendation.

Jul 13, Don't rely on anything Wish Upon sends to you. If you are completely expected to have nightmares on this poorly-made horror excuse of bait, then you definitely have problems alright.

Don't expect the entire film to be this horrifying because, believe it or not, it's not actually horrifying in the first place.
